BIO - Alejandra Mizrahi
Alejandra Mizrahi was born in Tucumán in 1981. She uses techniques ranging from crochet, macramé, felting, trimmings, embroidery, lace, knitting, weaving, fabrics dyed with natural dyes, and sewing.
Her work revolves around the construction structures of textiles and the instructional manuals for these techniques. From these two axes, she creates sculptures that emphasize the artisanal and three-dimensional nature of textiles, challenging their gravity by substituting the soft structure of threads and fabrics.
She holds a degree in Arts from the National University of Tucumán, a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and she teaches in the Fashion and Textile Design program at FAU, UNT. Since 2012, she has been working with the Randeras community in El Cercado. Her work is part of the collections of the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires, Palais de Glace, and private collections.
