BIO - Nimer P Jota

Paulo Nîmer PJota was born in 1988 in São José do Rio Preto, São Paulo State, Brasil. He currently lives and work in the city of São Paulo.

Paulo creates general narratives in a latent tension between the freedom of random choice and the precision of a meticulous composition. He mixes and composes representations in a constellation of suspended bodies. It is then that art history and mass culture (which he consumes through his environment) go hand in hand, as well as universal symbols, everyday trifles and regional themes.

“...Paulo rescues a beauty that does not seem to belong and yet is in the continental Brasilian DNA.

Brasil is of a brutal beauty, it hurts and it is passionate. It is a beauty suspended in minute details in lost corners. Paulo's work captures and shows his vision in layers, collage, and it all makes sense…”
